Bernhard, Scoundrel of Orange is a four-part VPRO series about the life of Bernhard van Lippe-Biesterfeld. He is played by two actors: Daan Schuurmans plays the young Bernhard and Eric Schneider performs the role of the old prince. The series is a dramatized interpretation of historical events. The old Bernhard tells his life story to Princess Máxima.
The young Bernhard is played by Daan Schuurmans, while the old version is played by Eric Schneider.
The four-part story of Tomas Ross (scenario) and Pim van Hoeve (direction) brings us from Soestdijk to the German Reckenwalde, Berlin, London, Argentina and Canada. It shows us the world from the thirties of the twentieth century to the beginning of the twentyfirst century.
